House, formerly farmhouse. C16 or earlier with mid-C17 NW wing.
Cased in red brick and given front range in late C18 or early
C19. Altered late C19. Painted brick. Plain tile roofs on 2
parallel ranges, the rear roof taller and with some fish scale
tiles. Central red brick stack of C17 with 4 square joined
shafts. 3-window front has outer bays with late C19 gables and
2-storey canted sash windows with slate roofs. Central recessed
sash window to 1st floor with wood lintel. Brick dentilled eaves
all round, the E elevation with dummy windows. Ground floor room
in NW wing has fireplace with high chamfered lintel, and
chamfered ceiling beam with mid-C17 stop. (RCHM Typescript).
