1/27 Stable Block and attached
wall to west of Ganthorpe
House

GV II

Stable block, and wall to south. Late C18. Dressed sandstone, pantile
roof. Stables to left, tackroom to right, with wall to extreme left. One
storey with attic. Round-headed board door to left flanked by segmental
16-pane sash windows. To right a board door with divided overlight and
16-pane sash window to right. All openings beneath keyed stone arches with
decorative tooling. Board pitching door in dormer over stable door. Stable
interior lined with fine pinkish yellow brick, and containing 3 original
loose boxes. Wall of sandstone rubble extending approximately 10 metres
from left gable end of stable. Approximately 2 metres in height at right,
coped top course curves down to approximately one metre at left.
