Cottage. Dated 1635, altered mid C20. Whitewashed random rubble, thatched roof, coped verges right, external stone
stacks gable ends with bread oven projection right. Plan: 2 cell and cross passage with stair turret, modified. One and
a half storeys, 3 bays; central bay projecting with stair turret, eyebrow dormers 3-light left and two 2-light right,
groundfloor 2-light left and 3-light right with the initials ID flanking a rose with leaves motif, below the initials
MHEB; C20 ornamental shutters to groundfloor windows. Interior: chamfered beams with runout stops, the cross passage
wall right has been moved to form 3 roods on groundfloor, large curved bay to left of modern grate in right gable end.
The rose with leaves motif is similar to ones found in Stream Farmhouse (qv) dated 1619 and at No 3 Robert Street (qv)
dated 1616, both in Williton CP, though with different initials.
