Pair of shops, now one. C17, partly rebuilt and extended in early
and late C19. Timber framed, refaced and extended in formerly lime-
washed coursed limestone rubble and cement rendered brick; graded
slate roof. Probably formerly 2 framed bays. 2 storeys at front and
3 at rear. Semi-integral brick end stack to left. No. 17 slightly
projecting. First floor early- to mid-C19 margin-light sash to left
and mid- to late-Cl9 four-pane sash to right; complete early-C19 shop
front to left consisting of bowed small-paned shop window to right with
frieze and cornice, and 2-leaf 6 flush-panelled door to left with
panelled-pilastered surround and bracketed straight hood, mid- to late-C19
shop front to right with 2-part plate glass shop window, 4-panelled
door to left (top 2 panels glazed), 4-panelled passageway door to right,
and bracketed fascia. Interior: remains of timber frame, showing
evidence of raised eaves. Included because of shop front.
