Icehouse in Hoo Park at Grid Ref TL 1934 1981

Icehouse. C18. Red brick in English bond. A circular domed structure of
egg-shape about 5M in diameter buried in ground at edge of a copse next
a large horse chestnut tree with earth removed from cap and partly
broken-in. Blocked entrance on E side of chamber but buried externally.
About 10M deep inside. Associated with the mansion called The Hoo
demolished c.1958.
