C18. Small 2 storey house. Timber frame weatherboarded with rough
plastered S front. Old red tile gabled roof extending as catslide over
rear service rooms. Large internal gable chimney in red brick on E. 2
windows. C19 flush sashes with 3/3 panes. C19 small pilastered doorcase
with flat hood on shaped brackets. Windows offset to W to accommodate
large fireplace at E end. Good example of small C18 house. Drury and
Andrews map of Hertfordshire shows this side of the road built up with
detached houses by 1766.
