House, now subdivided into 2. Early C19. Coursed rubble stone with quoins
and stone dressings and Collyweston slate roof with moulded stone ridge
and wing end stacks. Stone coped gables. H plan with cross wings. 2 storeys
of 5 3-light stone mullion windows, those on ground floor with hood moulds.
Central doorway with Tudor arch and 2 leaved part-glazed door with
overlight up 3 semi-circular steps. On left end similar 3-light windows
and French window and on right end similar windows. 2 storey extension
to rear with door to White Gables. Formerly one house called The
Wilderness. Pevsner.
