House and remains of cottage, now restaurant. Late C16 and C17 with C18 and C19
alterations. Timber framed, clad in whitewashed render with plain tiled roof,
partly re-roofed in C20. Two storeys and attics under gabled C19, casement
dormer to left of centre. Main stack to rear left of centre. Two C19 casement
windows on the first floor, one 3-light and one 2-light. First floor door to
left over flat-lintelled throughway below. Oriel bay window to ground floor
left of centre, smaller window to right. Half-glazed and panelled door to right
end in pilaster-pier surround. Glazed door to centre with pilaster surround and
flat hood over. Throughway to left with frame exposed on north and south sides
that to north side of more substantial scantling, those to south suggesting the
remains of a cottage; thinner frame to rear.
Interior:- substantial frame exposed with some C19 panelling visible behind the
bar.
