Cow house. Mid- to late C18. Coursed sandstone plinth and lower storey,
brick gable to south and timber-frame with woven plastered panels to upper
level, corrugated iron roof. Three short bays aligned roughly north-east/
south-west. Two rows of square panels to upper level, the lower with wattle
and daub, the upper one with woven lathes. Plain doorway to south-east,
loft entry above. Raking strut trusses of thin scantling. The south-
west gable has five prominent pigeon flight holes in apex. To north-east
the demolished cider house is represented only by an oak chamfered C18
door surround. (RCHM Vol II, p 180). Sutton Hall not included.
