Description

SHEDFIELD HIGH STREET
SU 51 SE
6/8 Terraced garden & Forecourt
south-west and south-east
of New Place
GV II

A formal garden, symmetrically arranged in line with the axis of the house, with
terraces at three levels lined with brick walls, and a series of steps. The ground
is mainly lawn with herbaceous borders, but there are stone-paved footpaths near
the house; the main cross path has at each end a garden seat, of a rustic type,
made up of boards. At the front there is a plain gravelled forecourt, entered
through brick gatepiers.
