SU 63 SE ROPLEY PETERSFIELD ROAD

4/4 Lyewood Cottage

II

House. C16, C17, early C19. Walls of flint with brick quoins bands, cambered
arches, plinth (all painted); stone cills. Thatched roof, hipped at the east
end, eyebrows to the ½-dormers. A late-medieval timber-framed hall, with later
fireplaces and some inserted 1st floors, with recladding of the early C19.
South front : 1½ storeys, 3 windows. Coupled sashes. Plain door within an open
porch, with a gabled thatch roof. Interior : the exposed frame indicates the
phases of construction.
