5/39 Bridge over stream and mill race abutments about 10 yards east of Buckton Mill

GV II

Bridge. Probably late C18 to early C19. Sandstone rubble and squared sandstone with brick dressings. Single span segmental arch aligned north/ south with two rows of brick voussoirs above which is a string course. Parapets have coping formed from unsquared sandstone placed on end. Abutments to west rise to the same level as the top of the arch. Complements the adjacent Buckton Mill (qv). The eastern parapet has plaque inscribed: HCC Included for group value. 533.
