Description

TL 87 NE EUSTON THE STREET (EAST SIDE)
4/47 Nos. 7 & 8.

GV II

A row of 3 estate cottages, now 2. C18. One storey and attics. Timber-framed and rendered: thatched roof with decorated ridge. 2 internal chimney-stacks, and one set externally on the north gable wall, all with tall, plain, red brick shafts. 5 3-light small-paned casement windows: 3 gabled dormers, with Roman tiles and 2-light casement windows, the middle window with square leaded panes, and a similar lattice window in the upper part of the north gable. Both cottages have one ground storey room with an exposed timber ceiling of earlier date, early C17 in No.7, C16 in No.8, but the remaining framing is of characteristically C18 style, and the roofs, with all the rafters, but no other components, visible, appear to be of one build. They are said to have been removed from the Park and reconstructed.
