An early C19 red brick house with a white gault brick front with end pilasters.
2 storeys. 3 window range, double-hung sashes with glazing bars, in plain reveals,
with shallow cornices on console brackets. The outer windows are 3-light. A
central doorway has a heavy stucco portico with Tuscan columns in antis, frieze
and cornice. Roof slate, hipped, with paired brackets under the eaves soffit.

Nos 1 to 9 (consec) with all the listed buildings on the North-West Side of
Nethergate Street and all the listed buildings on the South Side of Well Lane
form a group.
