Originally farmhouse, later a unit house associated with the adjacent
farmhouse which stands corner-to-corner with it (qv. Item 5/70). Now a
separate dwelling. Late C16. Restored 1976-80. Timber framed and rendered,
plaintiled roof. Originally 2-cell, end chimney house with cross-entry;
service cell to right now missing. 2 storeys and attic. Small-paned casement
windows, gabled porch with boarded door, all of 1970's. Stack at left gable
end has plain shaft. Interior. Good quality exposed framing. Evidence for
original windows, 2 secondary upper windows with ovolo mullions. Service
partition at gable end shows evidence for central doorways into former service
rooms. Hall ceiling has closely-spaced chamfered joists. Plain joists to
upper ceilings. Roof has a single row of wind-braced clasped purlins.
