-- II

Farmhouse. C15 core, parlour end and stack added early C17 to form a 3-cell
house. Altered C19 and mid C20. Timber framed and roughcast-rendered. Left
gable end probably rebuilt in brick, also rendered over. Pantiled roof with
glazed black tiles at the front. 2 storeys and attic. 3 windows, mainly C18
casements, some lights with old square-leaded glass. 2 doorways: to left a
boarded half-door and simple gabled porch; to right a lobby entrance with C19
4-panel door, the upper panels glazed. Internal stack and small gable stack
to left. Medieval core comprises hall and service end: considerably altered,
with walls raised about 1.3m, probably in C19 which is the date of the present
roof. Inserted floor in hall has chamfered joists. Parlour cell has plain
studding and floor structure; roof over this end renewed mid C20.
