Pair of cottages. 1819 at expense of Rev. W.C. Steggall, altered C20.
Clay lump on a flint and brick base, weather boarded and rendered. Hipped
thatched roof. 2 cells with end entrances, central stack. 2 storeys.
Ground floor: a C20 door to right, 2 and 3-light C20 casements. First floor 2
small part opening 2-light casements. Central ridge stack. Right end small
2-light metal frame part opening casements, that on first floor with a leaded
pane. Rendered left end has a door and a first floor 2-light casement. To
rear a lean-to addition with pantiled and corrugated sheet roof. Nos. 3 and 4
Walnut Tree Cottages form part of a pair the other half of which provides
documentary evidence for the date. Nos. 1 and 2 Walnut Tree Cottages are not
listed.
