North West of Doggetts

GV II

Barn. Probably early C18, reusing earlier materials. Weatherboarded
timber frame on tall English bond brick plinth. Pantile roof with
gabled ends. Rectangular plan 4-bay bars with cart entrance in third
bay from left. Later lean-to on right (east)end. The south front has
large plank double doors to right of centre. The opposing doorway at
rear has been blocked and a small hatch inserted. Interior: full-
height wall studding without rails and with straight tension braces.
Jowled posts; braces to tie-beams removed and replaced with curved
hanging knees. Roof structure replaced in C19.
