House, now 2. Early/mid C17, extended and partly remodelled in C19. Coursed
squared limestone rubble with timber lintels and some brick dressings; old
plain-tile roofs with brick stacks. 2-unit lobby-entry plan, extended. 2
storeys, and one storey plus attics. 5-window front incorporates 3-window
2-storey block with central door and single light above, both in line with
stack. To right is a 2-light leaded casement, at ground floor, and a 3-light
casement above. Bay to left of centre and the lower left 'extension have tall
segmental-arched ground-floor windows and gabled dormers plus a further door.
Extension to right has 3-light casement and a stone-built gabled dormer.
Half-hipped roof, to the main block, has large brick central stack with side
strips. Rear has further tall windows corresponding to those at the front.
Interior: Early range has open fireplaces to central stack, and chamfered and
stopped joists. Adapted as a school and school house but probably originally a
farmhouse.
