Two houses, now shops,early C18 and early to mid C18. No 18 is
early C18, rubble stone with stone-tiled roof, coped south gable
arid end-wall stacks. Projecting coped gable to street with windows
in raised moulded surrounds. Attic C20 light in original
surround, first floor west front and south side original thick
glazing-bar 12-pane sashes with dripstones. Ground floor wholly
C20. Rear east gable with leaded attic light and bead-moulded
first floor light and slate-roofed wing beyond with south side
moulded doorcase and dripstone. Nos 20 and 22 are early to mid C18
formal ashlar-fronted range with stone-tiled roof, coped north
gable, north end stack and ridge stack at original south end. Two
storeys and attic, originally 5-window range extended to 6 in
matching style. Two hipped dormers. Quoins at left end with
fragment of first floor band, moulded cornice and parapet. Six 12-
pane sashes to first floor in architraves with moulded sills and
fielded apron panels. Five original windows are evenly spaced.
Ground floor of No 20 wholly C20 as on No 18. No 22 has original
8-panel door in moulded architrave with steps up flanked by low
ashlar walls and C19 eighteen-pane shop window to left with thin
panelled pilasters repeated each side of door, C19 fascia over-
all. Rear has 3-storey elevation, rubble stone with bands and
parapet. Three-window range originally of 3-2-3 light flush cyma-
moulded mullion windows, surviving to second floor, centre window
blank. First floor has blocked 3-light to left, paired centre
window, one blank, one 15-pane and pair of 12-pane sashes to right.
Ground floor left is C20, central 6-panel door with overlight and
hood on brackets and C19 bay to right.
