3/545 Hogsbush Farmhouse with shed attached
to North

GV II

Farmhouse, late C18 front, C17 rear, rendered rubble stone with
ashlar dressings. Front range has coped-gabled mansard roof with
end wall stacks. 2 storeys and attic. 3 hipped dormers with sash
windows, 16-pane to centre, paired 12-pane to each side. Three 12-
pane sashes in flush surrounds to each floor, around floor centre
C20 replacing door. Flush quoins, raised plinth and floor band.
Rear range, one and a half storeys with ridge and end wall stacks,
ovolo-moulded mullion windows, much renewed in C20. 3 coped dormer
gables each side. South front has 3-light upper windows and 4-
light ground floor windows with king-mullions and 2-light window to
right, all with hoodmoulds. North side has 3-light upper windows
with hoodmoulds and one 2-light recessed chamfer moulded window to
left. Ground floor: lean-to with C20 4-light, 4-panel door and 2-
light window; original 4-light window with hoodmould, one light
blocked by buttress; small recessed chamfer moulded single light
and 6-panel door. West end single storey range open to north and
with west and south side 2-light recessed chamfered mullion
windows, hoodmouldto south side. From south front projecting C20
2-bay open-fronted range with reused mullion windows to south end
and north rear wall. Parallel with north side of rear range,
attached by wall, stone tiled shed, 4 open bays to south, square
stone piers with chamfered bases and capitals.
