1809-13 by Henry Hakewell in Tudor style. Brown brick, stone dressings. Residence
of many headmasters of the school, including Dr Arnold. Barry home of Matthew
Arnold. Irregular L plan with octagonal tower above entrance arch in angle. Wide
stone steps up to recessed porch flanked by buttresses. Windows mainly sashes.
Battlemented parapet. 2 and 3 storeys. Graded partly for historical interest.
New and old Quad Buildings, School House and Doctor's Wall at Rugby School form a]
group with the Chapel and War Memorial Chapel at Rugby School Dunchurch Road.
