Apparently C18 but incorporates date stone 1597 at rear (possibly from the
..M
previous house on a nearby site). Two storeys and attic. Rubble. Stone tile
roof raised over former wall plate in C19, 2 gable-end brick chimneys; 2 gabled
dormers, 2 light casements. Three 3-light casements under former wall-plate.
Two mid-C19 tripartite windows on ground floor and mid-C19 projecting gabled
closed porch. Mid-C19 'L' plan wing to rear with gable for chimney. Irregular
at rear (facing road). Chalk built, slate roofed barn almost contingent to
north with pigeon openings in south gable - possibly predates the house but
is not of special interest. Interior of house said to have heavy ceiling beams.
of late C16 type with carved stops.
