NUNEATON AND BEDWORTH COVENTRY ROAD SP38SE (North-west side) Hawkesbury 8/52 Tolldish Hall and Tolldish Hall Cottage - II

House, now farmhouse and flat. C16 with C19 alterations. Colourwashed plaster over timber framing with lath and plaster infill on sandstone plinth. Old plain-tile roof; ridge stack of old thin bricks and brick right end stack have tops of C20 brick. T-plan with cross-wing on left, 2-storey porch, and outshuts to rear. 2 storeys; 6-window range. Main range has central porch. Moulded painted wood doorway. Return sides have openings, to right with screen of turned balusters. Interior has exposed framing and seats. Old ledged and battened door. Above is old canted projecting window on shaped bracket, with gable over. 3-light lead-latticed casement and side lights have some old glass. Late C20 casements and other windows. To left are 4-light casements; smaller first-floor window has narrower old sill and bracket. To right ground floor has 2-and 3-light casements. First floor has old 2-light casement. Adjoining 4-light casement has old sill and bracket, and projecting gable above. Small 2-storey projection on right has blank ground floor of colourwashed brick. First floor has window similar to porch, but boarded over and colourwashed. Cross-wing has top-hung window to ground floor flat, and 4-light casement. Right return side has massive stack embedded in wall. Arched built-in dog kennel. To rear: large outshut on left, extended C19. Cross-wing has outshut addition. Centre has old lead-latticed first-floor casement. Interior has exposed framing. Room in cross-wing has panelled wall. Room to left of porch, formerly hall, has ogee stop-chamfered beam. Large full-height sandstone fireplace has moulded opening and cornice. Room to right has open fireplace, partly altered, with ogee stop-chamfered bressumer. Some old plank doors. C19 straight-flight staircase.
