LENHAM FAVERSHAM ROAD TQ 8952 (west side)

10/150 Douglas Almshouses 7.5.71. (south Row) GV II Almshouses. Mid C19. Red brick, largely in header bond, with plain tile roof. Small area of banded plain and fishscale tile- hanging on first floor, to right of centre. At right-angles to road, forming south side of an unenclosed courtyard. 2 storeys. Projecting eaves with flat soffits. Brick ridge stack to each end of row. Irregular fenestration of 11 windows; seven 2-light horizontally-sliding sashes, three single-light casements and one 2-light casement. Ground-floor windows with segmental heads. 2 half-glazed doors with segmental head to communal staircases, one at left end and one off-centre to right beneath tile-hanging, with one blocked door between them and another towards right end. Mid-to-late C19 block parallel to road at east end. Interiors not inspected. See also Faversham Road, Douglas Almshouses, north row.
