TL 6222 GREAT DUNMOW THE DOWNS (N SIDE)

Pair of houses now with office, early C19 and timber framed and plastered.
2 storeys over high raised basement, with projecting centre. Roof is of slate,
gabled with wide eaves overhang and shallow pediment-like gable over
projecting centre. Across the front is a flat topped painted timber verandah,
with square posts with capitals and decorative fret balustrade. First floor
has central serliana of metal casements with leaded lights and central semi-
circular headed casement. Recessed wings each have simple similar casements.
Raised first floor has 2 semi-circular headed windows in projecting centre.
Recessed wings each have 1 early C19 doorcase with flat hood, pilasters and
panelled frieze and similar, smaller Serliana windows on outer edges of facade.
3 substantial rendered panelled stacks on ridge line at right angles to front.
