Villa, language school at time of survey. Early 1880s, dormers rebuilt mid C20. Yellow bricks with moulded brick enrichments, some sandstone dressings, hipped slate roof. Double fronted with entrance range adjoining to left (south).
Three storeys over basement plus attic, 1:3:1:3 bays, two full-height canted bays linked by two storey cast-iron balcony, entrance set back first left, sash windows without glazing bars except for three flat-roofed dormers and French casements windows centre to three bay round-arched cast-iron balcony with enriched spandrels. Left return (south): two tier stone aedicule framing two windows, much eroded at time of survey. Entrance set back in flat-roofed enclosed porch with balustrade approached along south side by tessellated pavement and flight of six marble steps, round-arch opening with enriched spandrels, paired console brackets hung with garlands above foliate capitals carried on rusticated shafts, similar to porch of No 2 (qv).
Interior part inspected: turned baluster stair, semi-rococo style panelling to front room left with scroll heads to panels.
