10/259 Bridge over pond

GV II

Bridge. Circa 1912. Probably by Sir Reginald Blomfield. Red brick with stone piers
and dressings. 3 arches with brick piers on stone pontoons. 1-step surround to the
arches, projecting parapet above on corbels with doubled brick piers and stone
capitals. Parapet walls circa 1 foot high stone coped,the coping breaking up to
form a point at the centre of the bridge. 8 cast iron lamps on square stone plinths
on parapet walls, approximately 6 feet high with tapering standard, diagonally framed
and tent top lamps with spike finials above.
