House. Early C19 late C19 and C20. Red brick. Hipped slate roof
with wide eaves. Single ridge red brick stack. 2 storeys, 2 bays.
Single C20 projecting bay with 2 glazing bar sashes, to the right
is a single glazing bar sash with rusticated wedge lintel and
keyblock. 2 similar sashes and lintels above. To the left, set
back, is a single storey wing, being No.2 Southwell Road listed
as a separate item. 2 bay south front with later C19 gabled porch
with bargeboard and arched entrance. Inner panelled and glazed
door with overlight and rusticated wedge lintel with keyblock. To
the left is a single glazing bar sash and above 2 similar sashes,
all with similar lintels. To the right, set back, is a red brick
and slate 2 storey, 2 bay, late C19 extension with single red
brick stack to front left. Single similar sash and lintel on each
floor. House is approached over a foot-bridge across the Cocker
Beck which borders The Green.
