Semi-detached houses. 1841-3. Developed by C.H.Hill. Yellow brick, stucco and roof of slate. Two storeys above basement, each house two bays wide with side porch. Basement stuccoed. All windows flat-arched with gauged-brick heads. Stucco band between floors; original sashes to first floor. Steps up to single-storey porch to no 46 with cast-iron railings, pilasters, plain entablature and overlight; that to no 48 has balusters beside the steps, pilasters, plain entablature and overlight; it has been rebuilt to two storeys. Enclosed eaves with central decorative bracket; party walls expressed above the roof and carrying the central stack. Hipped roof; dormers to both houses.
