House. 1838. Built by the local influential Gibson family.
Gault brick, slate roof. L-shaped plan. 2 storeys. Front, W
elevation: symmetrical 2 window range, central front door and
stack. Tapering plinth to accommodate road dropping to N.
Ground floor, windows and door have chamfered reveals and good
voussoirs. Windows of paired sashes, to N, 4x4 panes, to S,
4x2 panes. Doorway has 4-centred arched head, door similar,
framed with full length, moulded, boarded, central panel.
Above, recessed date stone, 1838 G. First floor window as
dormers, dropped through eaves, moulded barge-boards and
moulded upper architraves, triangular tympana with central
pebble rendered triangular panels. Windows horned sashes,
delicate glazing bars, splayed sills. Chimney in gault brick
with recessed panels and 4 buff coloured square stacks. Rear
has outshut of similar brickwork.
