6/81 Targetts Farmhouse

II

Farmhouse. Early C17, altered C19. Rendered cob, thatched roof
with half-hip to right and left, axial and gable end brick stacks.
Through passage to rear of stack. Single-storey and attic, 2
windows. Six-panelled door with thatched canopy to left of centre,
2-light casement either side, right hand casement has hoodmould.
Large eyebrow dormer to attic with two 2-light casements. Left
return wall rubble stone with 4-panelled door in C19 porch, part
of a single-storey range of kitchen and outbuildings attached to
rear of house. Right return has 2-light casement to first floor.
Rear has planked doors and 2-light casements.
Interior has deep chamfered beams with exposed joists, open
fireplace with chamfered lintel with curved corners on stone jambs.
