- The Beams and Hayling
Cottage
GV II
House with later additions, now forming 2 dwellings. Probable late C16 origins
with C19 and C20 alterations and additions. Central section timber-framed, rough
rendered. Plain tile roof and red brick stack. 2 storeys, with lower additions
at each side. C20 casements throughout, entrances by later additions. Steeply-
pitched roof. Interior of The Beams (to left): 2-storey section forming half of
early range which is apparently of 3 bays. To 1st floor jowled posts. Tie beam
with arched braces and studded partition wall. Diamond mullion mortices to front
wall plate and shutter groove. C20 additions to each side of no special interest.
