Ice-house. Possibly of C17 origins with entrance front initialled and dated " J. D. 1778 " (John Denby the owner of the property at this time). Cut out of solid bedrock, hammer-dressed stone-walled entrance. Partly sunk underground and approached down a flight of 9 stone steps leading to entrance doorway with monolithic jambs. Coped wall above has datestone set below coping, rubble roof forms rock garden.
Interior: Single barrel vault with 2 recesses on left and a shaft cut at an angle in the roof above.
