Four houses forming a row standing on a raised terrace set back from Oxford
Road. Mid C19. Brick with stone dressings, slate roof, brick ridge stack and end
stack. 3 storeys and basement; 8-window range altogether. 4 entrances reached
via stone steps. Panelled doors with panelled reveals and overlights, 2 with
glazing bars with geometrical design. Nos.33 to 39 have 2-storey canted bay
windows with horned sashes. No.35 has a single-storey bay window with red and
white brickwork and a wrought-iron balcony. Nos.33, 37 and 39 have wrought-iron
balconies. Nos.33, 35 and 39 have doors with margin lights leading onto the
balconies. First and second floors mostly have sashes with glazing bars of
3-pane width. No.35 has wrought-iron window hoods, No.37 has C20 double glazed
windows throughout. Brick flat arches. Wide eaves soffit. Interiors not
inspected.
