Farmhouse and cottages; now 4 dwellings. Early-mid C18 and
early C19 altered. Roughcast and pebble-dashed over stone,
graduated slate and Welsh slate roofs. 2 storeys, 1:1:1:2:3
windows to 1st floor; lower parallel range to rear of Nos 4, 6
& 8. 'Chase End' at right end of row: early C18 stone door
surround has cornice on shaped corbels; C20 casements in stone
surrounds; side door on right. No.2 Roanhead Lane on left
probably late C18 (altered): C20 door flanked by C20 casements
on each floor. Nos 4, 6 & 8 probably early C19: each has door
with overlight and raised window surrounds with projecting
sills. 6-pane sashes to No.8 and 1st floor of No.4; No.6 has
large 8-pane shop window beneath plain sash. Ridge stacks on
the party walls, brick stack on front roof slope between Nos 6
& 8, left end stack to No.8. INTERIOR: 'Chase End' has C18
corniced fireplace to 1st floor left. Datestone within rear
wing inscribed 'RGE 1703' is likely to refer to former
building against right return. Outbuilding to front right of
'Chase End' not of special interest.
