Yew Cottage

Small house. Mid C18, extended C19, altered C20. Painted brick, old
tile gabled roof. Rectangular plan of 3 cells; small lean-to-extension
at each end. 2 storeys. Chimney on ridge, partly re-built; one chimney
on right-hand end, both with clay pots. Road (east) front: 4 bays.
Plat band at first floor, dentilled brick eaves. Sash windows with
glazing bars with box frames nearly flush with wall. Window in 3rd bay
on first floor is blocked. Windows in ground floor have panelled
shutters. Entrance door under blocked window has 6 fielded panels, with
top 4 panels glazed; moulded architrave, and plain, flat hood on cut
brackets.
