The building shall be upgraded to II* and the description shall be
amended to read:-
Former warehouse now shop. C19 with C20 alterations and circa late C15
undercroft. Painted brick, rendered to ground floor. Roof not visible.
Corner site. 3 storeys. 5 bays. C20 ground floor facade with central
door and 4 semicircular arched windows. Central bay recessed with
casement window at first floor and loading door at second floor. Sash
windows in outer bays with glazing bars: segmental arches at first
floor and flat arches at second floor. Corbelled block cornice and
central pediment. Undercroft below the west side circa late C15. Brick
with flint side walls. 2 bays with single-order chamfered diagonal
ribs. 4 side chambers: those on the western side of the undercroft may
have-been reduced in depth. Ranged at right angles to and away from
the street line. The building is listed II* because of the undercroft,
which is one of an important group of medieval undercrofts within the
city walls.
