House, now shop and flats. C17 with C19 and C20 alterations.
Timber-frame; brick and stucco; hipped and gabled slate roof;
brick stacks to front and wing.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and attic (presenting 2 storeys to Bridge
Street); 5-window range: three C20, 6/6 sashes on 1st and 2nd
floors, with two C20 roof dormers over. C20 half-glazed door
in moulded case to left, with 2 deeply recessed 6/6 casements
to right. Right (gable) element has C20, 6/6 sash; storeyband;
tripartite 4/4: 6/6: 4/4 sash over with chamfered stone
surround with corbelled sill. Left bay has cast-iron balcony
to 1st floor. Passage to rear has C19, 7-panel door with
overlight.
Bridge Street front has 3 casements of 23 panes with
chamfered, scrolled and beaded stone surrounds and mullions;
three 1/1 sashes, in moulded stucco architraves; moulded wood
eaves; moulded wood storeyband; C20 door, and overlight, set
in right corner.
INTERIOR: winder stair with octagonal newel, turned balusters,
and splat balusters to 2nd floor; staircase under repair, with
turned newels with finials. 2nd floor: chamfered ceiling beams
(exposed timber-frame; C19 cast-iron fireplace).
1st floor: exposed C17 stop chamfered ceiling frame, box
framing and close studding; plank doors; 2-leaf glazed doors;
chamfered stone fireplace with inserted oak lintel.
Ground floor: C17 panelling, ceiling frame with ogee stop
chamfers and box framing; mid C19 cast-iron fireplace; coved
ceiling.
Cellar/basement: exposed masonry and timbers; mid C19
cast-iron fireplace; chamfered ceiling beams; tiled floor.
