Pair of attached cottages. Late C18/early C19, probably a
conversion of a slightly earlier house. Painted roughcast,
pantile roof with stone coping to right gable end and brick
stack to left-of-centre and rear wing. Double-depth plan with
rear wings. 2 storeys; each cottage one-window range. No.72 to
the right, is larger and has C20 door and windows. The door to
the right has 6 raised-and-fielded panels below a hood on
wrought-iron scroll brackets; to the left is a flat arch to a
6/6-pane sash window with a segmental arch to the frame, below
a 2-light casement window at eaves level. No.74 has a C20 door
to the far left, a 3/6-pane sash window below a 2-light
casement window close to eaves level; this has 8 small panes
to the left leaf and 2 panes to the right leaf. INTERIOR not
inspected.
