House. 1837, altered early C20. Render over rubble with
limestone dressings, rendered lateral and ridge stacks and a
slate hipped roof. Double-depth plan. Italianate style. 2
storeys, basement and attic; 3-window range.
The right hand projects slightly, rendered pilasters to a band
and frieze, and deep eaves on paired brackets. The doorway in
the re-entrant covered by a C19 timber porch with panelled
pilasters and a 6-panel doors, to a full-width tented
wrought-iron verandah, and a doorway with bracketed cornice.
To the right is a wide early C20 rusticated ashlar
ground-floor bow with a raised parapet and 3 windows;
plate-glass sashes. Large rear stained-glass stair light.
INTERIOR: large central hall with a dogleg stair with turned
balusters and a large octagonal panelled newel; front left
room has a reeded dado and large marble fireplace with angled
brackets and a curved top; early C20 six-panel doors, with
broken segmental pediments, and panelled shutters.
