House, part now used as tearooms. Mid or late C18. Plastered
stone rubble; left end stacks with plastered brick
chimneyshafts; slate roof.
PLAN: One room wide, 2 rooms deep with staircase between.
EXTERIOR: 3 storeys. Regular 2-window plaster front is lightly
blocked out as ashlar. Good C18 doorway with panelled timber
case and open-pediment hood with dentil cornice on shaped
timber brackets, fielded 8-panel door under fanlight with
radial pattern of glazing bars. C20 curving bay window to
left, but original type of windows above; 12-pane sashes to
the first floor and 3/6-pane sashes to the second floor.
Moulded timber eaves cornice to hipped roof. C20 dormer
windows to front and left containing 4/8-pane and 3/6-pane
sashes.
INTERIOR: Ground floor has been modernised. Only old feature
is the stair with its Chinese Chippendale balustrade.
