Detached villa. 1839-41. Yellow stock bricks set in Flemish
bond; Welsh-slate hipped roof with projecting eaves, brick
end-stacks. Centre-hall entrance plan. Two storeys and
basement; three-window range double-fronted. Steps rise to
doorway with Doric columns carrying cornice-head, 4-panelled
door and fine patterned fanlight. Panel above doorway
inscribed; 'Grove Cottage'. Ground-floor gauged brick
round-arches to 6/6 sashes with curved and radial glazing bars
and margin lights. First-floor stucco sill band and gauged
brick flat arches to 6/6 sashes.
