House. Early C19. Red brick, Flemish bond; roof hipped, low
pitch angle slated. 2 storeys. 3 wide bays. Sash windows with
glazing bars and some crown glass. Ground-floor windows
segment headed, all with plain reveals. Doorway segment
headed, off centre, fielded, panelled door. Dentilled string
course. Mortar joints scribed for tuck pointing.
INTERIOR: plain and depleted, only interest 2 doors with
Cotterill's Patent door latches. It was the schoolmaster's
house for the school built in 1867 adjacent. Local tradition
suggests that there was an earlier dame school. C20
conservatory attached to E side and kitchen to S.
