No.32

GV II

National school, in use as builder's store. 1842. Local grey
limestone rubble with some slatestone, first floor of right
end and rear elevation slate-hung; brick dressings to front.
Rear centre stack with stone and brick shaft. Natural slate
roof, half-hipped at ends. Plan: deep rectangular plan with
one doorway on front at left and one on the right return.
EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 3-bay front with regular
fenestration. Chamfered 2-centred arched granite doorway to
ground-floor right, panelled original timber door with
Y-panelling. 2 original ground-floor 3-light high-transomed
casement windows with timber ovolo-moulded glazing bars and
diamond leaded panes. Flat brick arches over windows with
moulded brick hoodmoulds. 3 similar first-floor windows with
plain plate glass glazing. The left return has a central
recessed doorway and 3 curious large, blind, round-headed
