House. C17 altered and extended in C19. Built of Isle of Wight
stone rubble with slate roof and 2 brick chimneystacks. 2
storeys and attics in gable end; 4 windows. Gable end with
kneelers. Windows are mainly C19 sashes with 2 later canted
bays to ground floor. Right side gable end has ground and 1st
floor stone mullioned windows with hood moulding. 2 storey C19
range to rear with 2 C19 casements. One of the original
Domesday Manors. The date 1416 is said to be cut into one of
the oak beams in the attic and there are cockshead hinges
reported.
