Description


1. 1615 BELL STREET (South Side) Premises occupied by Dorset County Library ST 8623 1/123 II 2. Good Victorian essay in a Georgian manner. 2 storeys and attic. 3 windows. Slate gabled roof; narrow flanking stacks of ashlar with capping. Rough ashlar front. Giant pilasters at ends and flanking each window bay with dentil course and band above at eaves level. Band above ground floor. Windows in reveals; no glazing bars; moulded stone architraves with keystones; shaped aprons. Round-headed doorway; door in reveals; architrave with keystone; round-headed stone hood resting on corbels on shaped stone brackets; small ball finial over.
