Dunlis House

II

House. C17, raised and extended in the early-mid C19. Timber
-framed and clad in painted brick. Framing exposed in north
and showing former roof level. Plain slate roofs. Two storeys;
irregular fenestration of one window on each floor, C20
casements. Panelled door to left. Two storey single window
range to left under same roof, added when the roof was raised.
Roughcast block to rear. Interior: some re-ordering at
ground-floor level but retaining original ceiling beams.
Integral timber chimney stack tied in to principal truss with
associated partition, door frame and winder stair. Queen-brace
roof, survives intact and it is understood that the original
thatch survives underneath the later slate roof.
