Early C16 building possibly originally a guildhall of four bays with additional bays to north and south of C16, C17 and C18 dates. Stone plaque in south wall 'IH 1769'. Two storeys with attics. Timber-framed with rendered local brick, plain tile roofs. Street elevation has two first floor hung sash windows with glazing bars. Early C19 shop windows with original glazing bars flank central door with rectangular fanlight and common architrave. Churchyard elevation has a lower single storey and attic range to north. Two gabled dormer windows and replacement casement and hung sash windows. Late C18 panelled door with a flat canopy to right of centre and small shop window of fixed lights in a reeded architrave. Interior. The timber-framed walls of the original building are largely intact, the moulded tie beams are damaged from later insertions. The four-bayed side purlin roof is very fine with ogee braced collars, and windbraces in each bay.
