ST 40 SW BROADWINDSOR SANDPIT

and attached stable
to north

Detached Farmhouse, C17 with C19 re-fashioning: W.T.1813 at south
gable end. W.T. 1823 at north gable end. Rubble-stone walls with a
lozenge slate-hung, gable-end at first floor level. Slate roof
with stone gable-copings. Brick stacks at left and right hand gables.
2 storeys. 4 windows. 4-light and 3-light wooden casements with
lead lights. One sash at left hand, wooden lintels. Front door, left
of centre with recess panels, wooden lintel over, 3 steps up. Attached
stable at right hand. Same materials with stone gable-copings and a
ball-finial. Stable-door at centre with arch-voussoirs. Pointed-arch
window at left hand. Loft door at centre, to an upper threshing floor.
Windlass and pulley. Segmental-arch entrance on gable-end with 2-leaf
plank doors.
